EXPERIENCE

US History Teacher/Coach. 08/01 - Present. Spring Branch Middle School. 
Am in charge of teaching 8th grade US History and coaching three sports.  Also have coaching and scouting responsibilities at Smithson Valley High School.


Student Teacher.  01/01 - 04/01.  Judson High School.  Worked with two mentor teachers in world history and p.e.  Was in charge of lesson planning and teaching those two classes for the half semester.

Teacher Internship.  08/00 - 12/00.  Dorie Miller Junior High School. Work with a team of teachers in gaining experience in teaching a classroom of students.  Also took three college courses in curriculum and instruction while interning at this junior high school.

Mentoring.  08/00 - 10/00.  Southwest Winner's Foundation Mentoring Program. Became a big brother to a young man and planned activities with him so as to be a positive influence in his life.
 
Teacher Assistant.  06/00 - 07/00.  Southwest Winner's Foundation, San Antonio. Assisted the social studies teacher at this charter school for at risk students.  Gained valuable classroom management skills as I ended up substituting for the Science and English teacher.

Teacher's Aid.  01/96 - 06/96.  International School of Stavanger, Norway. Assisted Ms. Zinger, the school's main tutor, with daily classroom activities and occasional tutoring.

HONORS AND AWARDS

Graduated as Salutatorian from the International School of Stavanger, Norway ('96)

Made the Dean's List at Southwest Texas State University eight semesters in a row ('96-'00).

Twice received the Liberal Arts Award for Academic Achievement.
